Job Description

The Department of Entomology is seeking an Administrative Assistant. In this role, you will work under the directive of the department head and senior administrative manager providing support for the department of entomology. This position will have contact with faculty, students, alumni and stakeholders.  What You'll Be Doing:Maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, collecting and providing support materials, and recording and distributing minutesComposing routine correspondence and drafting non-routine correspondenceProofreading various documents, reports and presentation materialsCollecting data for use in reports, presentations and meetingsAssisting with small event coordination, including room reservations, setups, resource needs, and cateringArranging travel, ordering supplies, maintaining organizational files, making copies, distributing incoming and outgoing mail, and ensuring proper functioning of office equipment

Responsibilities + Skills

Education

High school diploma/GED

Experience

2 years of experience in a clerical or administrative support roleExcellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
