The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.   Position SummaryThe Assistant Watch Engineer assists the Watch Engineer in the operation, monitoring and maintenance of high-pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment in accordance with University policy. The Assistant Watch Engineer is responsible for the safe and reliable operation, preventive maintenance and corrective repair of plant systems. Will be required to perform and/or assist in any routine and emergency operations function of the plant. Duties of the Assistant Watch Engineer cover but not limited to proper rounds, log entries, proper start up and shut down procedures in accordance with University policy.

Responsibilities + Skills

All Licenses and certifications required by city, state and governing agencies.

Education

Current NYC Refrigeration System Operations Certificate of qualificationTwo (2) years experience in the operation and maintenance of high-pressure boilers and chillers.
