Asst/Assoc Prof (Latina/o/x Literatures And Culture)

Job Description

Cornell University’s Latina/o Studies Program invites applications for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor (full-time tenure-track) in Latinx literary and cultural studies. The appointment will begin July 1, 2024. Ph.D. in Literature, American Studies, or related fields must be in hand prior to the appointment. The candidate will hold a joint appointment in the Latina/o Studies Program and the Department of Literatures in English. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to research and teaching in the field of Latinx Studies. We are open to all fields and areas of specialty within Latinx literary studies and are especially enthusiastic about candidates with expertise in Afro-diasporic literatures and cultures, with a focus on the Hispanophone Caribbean and/or Central America. Teaching responsibilities (2/2 load) include introductory courses in Latinx Studies and Latinx literature, first-year writing seminars, upper-level undergraduate courses, and graduate seminars. Other responsibilities include supervision of doctoral candidates and service to the Latina/o Studies Program, the Department of Literatures in English, the College, and the University, appropriate to rank and attentive to the nature of the joint appointment.
