Job Description

Yale School of Medicine (YSM) seeks a seasoned, collaborative, and results-driven fundraising leader to serve as the Associate Vice President (AVP) for Medical School Development and Alumni Affairs. Reporting jointly to the dean of the medical school and Yale University’s vice president for alumni affairs and development, the AVP will lead fundraising for one of the most distinguished medical schools in the country, with highly developed research, teaching, and clinical care.The AVP will provide collaborative leadership and strategic vision to maximize the philanthropic potential of YSM’s development operation. Focusing on both current initiatives and positioning YSM appropriately for the long-term, the AVP will develop innovative strategies for personally cultivating and soliciting new prospects as well as strengthening relationships with existing donors.

Responsibilities + Skills

Extensive demonstrated experience securing philanthropic support in healthcare and scientific research, ideally within an educational setting, with a comprehensive understanding of large, complex institutions.
