Career Counselor

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Director of Career Services or designee, the Career Counselor will provide individual career counseling to students and alumni; create and deliver workshop presentations; and provide office operations support. In addition, this individual will be responsible for maintaining student records, providing follow-up correspondence and related student services.Other responsibilities include:1. Administers and interprets assessment instruments.2. Assists students in utilizing career assessment tools.3. Develops and maintains effective relationships with students, employers, faculty and staff. Maintains communication and cooperation with other offices on campus to assist students in developing awareness of their career options and services provided by the Office of Career Services.4. Links students with appropriate experiential education opportunities.5. Assists in planning and managing campus-wide career programs and events.6. Assists with planning, coordinating and executing career fair events.

Responsibilities + Skills

Education

A Bachelors Degree and experience in university career services/counseling/college relations/human resources is required. Demonstrated ability to relate effectively to students, faculty, staff and external organizations. These qualifications may be waived for individuals with appropriate alternate experience.
