The Office of Summer and Winter Sessions at Purdue University (West Lafayette) is seeking its next Director. This student-centered, adaptive, collaborative, and innovative unit is committed to leveraging summer and winter opportunities to maximize student success. Their outstanding work has been recognized by the National Resource Center for the First-Year Experience and Students in Transition as a recent recipient of their John N Gardner Institutional Excellence Award. The number of students (e.g., high school students, incoming and current Purdue students) engaged in summer has increased by 69% in the last 10 years (23,022 students in Summer 2023) and winter session is a new academic term at Purdue with excellent potential.The Director of Summer and Winter Sessions reports to the Associate Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning and is responsible for the overall leadership of both summer and winter sessions (team of 8-10 staff), with specific responsibility for academic program development, course capacity, financial and budget planning, assessment/continuous improvement, and marketing. The Director of Summer and Winter Sessions must be innovative, forward-thinking, and a transparent and direct communicator. Their leadership style needs to include evidence of commitment to equity and inclusion, promotion of staff development and mentorship, and advancement of essential collaborations across campus (e.g., academic departments, residential life, and student success units).Review of applications will begin: Wednesday, October 25th
