Find your future with us.We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable individual to join our Historical Services team in Auburn, Washington as an on-site Experienced Historian-Archivist. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for aviation history, expertise in archival methods, excellent organizational skills, research experience, and a keen eye for detail. This role requires a multifaceted individual who can support our archive collection to ensure the preservation and accessibility of our corporate archive. Position ResponsibilitiesResponds to requests for detailed information (ex: multiple subject analysis) from internal/external customers using standard research practices requiring general knowledge of company and aerospace historyPreserves historical collection using standard archival practices to ensure the permanence of the collectionOrganizes records artifacts, film, digital records and photographs and negatives into collections per historical services policyPrepares document descriptions and reference aids for use of archives, such as accession lists, indexes, guides, bibliographies, abstracts, and copies of documents in various mediaCatalogues by entering description and keywords, titles, etc. into archival database to ensure timely and accurate retrieval of materials requested by customers or historiansSelects and evaluates materials for inclusion in archives using archival acquisition guidelinesAcquires information and artifacts that are useful and pertinent to company per Boeing historical services program corporate policy to keep collection relevant and completePrepares documentation regarding Boeing historical subjects including contributing to articles, working with museums, academia, community, giving tours and contributing to historical displays per Boeing historical services policy for the purpose of disseminating historical information of a company event, milestone or relationship, and to increase awareness of company heritage, build employee morale and ensure accuracy of information
Responsibilities + Skills
Proficiency in using archival management systems and digital tools for cataloging and digitization of aviation artifacts and records
Education
5+ years of experience in archival settings, managing large and diverse collections
Experience
5+ years of experience in collecting, organizing, synthesizing and analyzing data5+ years of experience using excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with leaders and colleagues5+ years of experience working both independently and in team environments
