Job Description
The Manager, Security, will report to the Director, Security, and will be responsible for conducting and assisting in a wide range of investigations including, but not limited to, theft of intellectual property, insider threat, workplace violence, theft, fraud, vandalism, and employee misconduct. These investigations are normally conducted in conjunction with partners from HR, Legal, IT Security, and/or Corporate Audit. The Manager will develop and execute an investigative strategy, carry out, document, and share findings of fact with management.When deemed appropriate, he/she will cooperate with local or federal law enforcement or prosecutors for submission as a criminal matter.Will provide guidance to management world-wide in matters of serious violations of company policy, identify crime-conducive conditions, and develop recommendations from investigative findings to mitigate internal control failures.The Manager will assist in the implementation of the Workplace Violence Prevention and Response Program, which may include preparing/providing training to employees and identifying, assessing, mitigating and managing threats to the company, its Executives, and employees.He/she will establish and maintain liaison with law enforcement agencies at the local, federal, and international levels.The Manager may perform site assessments and oversee security at a wide range of events.Travel, both domestic and international, may be required for these events. In addition to the above, this Manager position entails membership in Qualcomm’s Executive Protection (EP) team.Availability for frequent travel in this capacity is required.The EP team works closely with Assistants to the CEO and other Exec. VP’s, Corporate Aviation, local teams, and others, to plan and execute the safe and efficient travel of our top Executives. It requires tight scheduling, difficult overseas flights, long hours, and days with little sleep while traveling with the CEO.The EP team is responsible for scheduling ground transportation, advancing the sites to be visited, preparing the drivers, and coordinating with U.S. diplomatic missions and foreign government protection details.Flexibility to deal with constant scheduling changes is a must. All must be done with a positive attitude, always building strong relationships both internally and externally.
Responsibilities + Skills
High School Diploma or equivalent and 10+ years of Security or related work experience.Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Masters = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
