Job Description
General Summary:As a Post SIlicon Power and Performance Engineer with a focus on CPUs, you will work to characterize, debug, and optimize the performance and power consumption of a CPUs in a complex SoC system. You will help set up methodologies, develop validation plans, recommend tuning optimizations, and verify that the newly arrived silicon meets the highest performance. You will also participate in architecture and product definition feedback for the next generation of CPU by closing the loop with real silicon analysis. Roles and ResponsibilitiesDefine and execute end-to-end performance and power analysis plans for complex CPU subsystemsDebug issues found during pre-silicon, bring-up, validation, and production phases of SOC programsDefine an optimization strategy that delivers world class CPU workload performanceLead collaborative test approach with multiple teams, and tracking test execution to make sure all features are performant and optimized on timeWork closely with supporting teams in design, architecture, emulation, firmware, design verification and software to ensure readiness for first silicon arrival, evaluation of IP performance upon silicon arrival, and evaluation of critical CPU workloadsDevelop deep knowledge of CPU architecture, SoC system architecture, system benchmarking techniques, and power reduction and optimization methodsDrive technical innovation to enhance capabilities in CPU performance, system performance and power validation including tools and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives
Responsibilities + Skills
Must be a self-starter and be able to independently drive tasks to completionLeadership and mentoring skills a definite assetProven understanding of CPU, memory hierarchy, system interconnects.Knowledge and experience in ARM v8 and v9 specificationsSolid grasp of ARM SoC concepts and architecture specifications like SMMU, GIC, Coresight-PMU and Timer architectures
