Research Associate - Hanson Lab MBG

Job Description

A position for a Research Associate is available to work in the lab of Maureen Hanson in the Dept. of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY. The research project concerns the molecular basis of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), a disabling illness with similarities to long COVID. The Research Associate will collaborate with researchers in the Cornell Center for Enervating Neuroimmune Disease (https://neuroimmune.cornell.edu). Perform sophisticated mathematical and statistical analyses of molecular data derived from assays performed on cells and tissues from individuals with ME/CFS and control subjects. Clinical data will also be correlated with molecular data and modeling performed to detect possible sub-groups.

Responsibilities + Skills

Education

The Research Associate will assist in supervising an undergraduate lab assistant or a student taking research for credit on the topic of statistical analysis of ME/CFS data. The RA may also assist in training of graduate students and Research Support Specialists.
