Job Description
Provides substantive and stable clinical and administrative support to the Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation. Performs under pressure, sensibly judge urgency of matters, and works with the utmost confidentiality. Maintains constant engagement with patients, referring providers, University administration, other faculty and staff, residents, and clinical and research colleagues. Provides excellent customer service to the patients and providers and maintains Yale Medicine standards of professional behavior.Provides administrative back up to colleagues in the department when other administrative staff are out. Develops expert utilization of EPIC and MyChart to communicate with patients and to schedule clinical appointments, maintain accurate patient information, update patient records, and accumulate new patient information. Assists patients with completion of forms and obtaining referrals. Assists patients as a patient advocate by providing direction and information. Schedules diagnostic tests and specialized appointments for patients seen in clinic settings.
