The Student & Young Alumni Programs (SYAP) team is a fast-paced, innovative group, tasked with supporting current students and alumni 1-20 years out. We work to build inclusive communities where the next generation of alumni connect, contribute, and lead throughout their lifelong journey with Cornell. SYAP sits within the Class, Affinity, Student & Young Alumni Programs team (CSYAP), a collaborative, supportive, and creative group of engagement officers within Cornell Alumni Affairs and Development (AAD). CSYAP is responsible for supporting eight decades of Cornellians through class and affinity interests, including Reunions on campus each June.The Program Assistant will contribute to the Student and Young Alumni Programs (SYAP) and Affinity Programs teams to meet strategic imperatives for the division. This role will also support the Director of Affinity Programs in connecting alumni back to Cornell through affinity involvement, such as with student organizations they participated in while on campus. The person in this role will assist with programming and event planning and execution, marketing, budgeting, data tracking and reporting, student hiring and training, and other essential administrative functions.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in planning and executing up to 30 team events per year for students and alumniSupport email marketing and communications/branding initiativesManage budgets, spending, and purchasingCapture, track, and report on volunteer service and event engagement dataCode involvement data to help us better connect with alumni based on their interests

Education
Associates degree and two to four years of relevant experience or equivalent combination.Highly detail-oriented and comfortable with learning new technology.
