Job Description
Autonomously create, lead, and oversee the Skills for Health and Research Professionals (SHARP) training program to bring visibility to Columbia Mailman School of Public Health and the Department of Environmental Health Sciences as world leaders in education and research methods. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Develop and drive a forward-thinking vision and strategy to maximize Columbia’s visibility and contribution to the public health and biomedical fields by working together with the SHARP’s faculty leadership. Identify and implement innovative strategies, platforms, and partnerships to expand program size, accessibility, and impact on scientific research.Hire, manage, and supervise a team of 4-6 employees to ensure successful programmatic support in a collaborative and supportive environment. Oversee program staff for all aspects of day-to-day operations, financial budgeting, development of individual trainings, advertisement and outreach to national and international audiences, and communication between instructors and participants.Manage financial operations, including budgeting and resource allocation, and compliance with Columbia’s policies to sustainably grow a program that reaches a diverse research audience, including a scholarship program for financial aid and underrepresented groups.Identify and recruit new faculty instructors and teams inside and outside Columbia. Stay attuned to evolving educational industry trends to cultivate strategic partnerships and viable course topics through market analysis using data-driven insights.Serve as a liaison to key partners and offices at Columbia University and collaborators outside of Columbia for daily program operations of dozens of custom-built trainings.Streamline administrative processes to optimize delivery and experience for attendees. Conduct comprehensive evaluation methods to integrate internal and external feedback to refine program offerings for continued quality, attendee satisfaction, and accessibility.Maintain an adaptive leadership style to navigate challenges creatively and inclusively for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities + Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree required or equivalent in education and experience and five years' experience required.
Experience
Master's degree or equivalent in education, management or administration and experience.
