Join our team as a Resident Camp Counselor at Camp Ocoee for summer 2024 (full time/seasonal)!Camp begins May 27, 2024 and ends July 27, 2024 but we are currently looking for counselors who are available the latter part of the summer. We are looking for counselors for Arts & Crafts, Cabin Life, and a Head Lifeguard! We have a high need for MALE counselors.At the Y, we believe in making a positive impact . Join us and be a part of something bigger!Responsibilities:Plan and organize outdoor activities and sports for groups of campersCreate tailored schedules based on children's age groups and interestsEscort and oversee children during camp activitiesEducate campers through engaging games and explorationsAddress behavioral issues and ensure safety rules are followedPerform first aid or provide care for injuries as neededMaintain accurate incident logs and attend staff meetings and trainingsAssist with other duties as assigned
Responsibilities + Skills
Strong oral and written communication skillsLeadership, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skillsA good understanding of risk management and safety in the workplace
Education
High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferredMust be at least 17 years of ageProven experience working with children as a Camp Counselor or similar role preferred
