JOB LOCATION: Des Moines Y Camp - Boone, IowaHOURS/DAYS SCHEDULE: Schedule VariesPAY RANGE: $44,000-$51,000/annually and the option of residence/house at CampCLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: April 15, 2024; Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. POSITION SUMMARY:Oversees assigned areas at the Des Moines YMCA Camp, which may include staff supervision, program development, marketing, community relations, financial development, contract negotiation, maintenance of programs, hiring, training and supervision of staff for School Programs and Group and Partner Camps. Participates in volunteer and staff development, collaborations with community agencies and facility management.
Responsibilities + Skills
Education
Develop and manage high-quality group, school, education and guest engagement strategies and programs which support camp and Association goals and strategies.Recruit, hire, train, develop and direct seasonal employees and volunteers for Group Camps, School Programs, Educational Programs and Partner Camp.
Experience
Minimum of one year of experience in a leadership role.Demonstrated computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).American Red Cross CPR-PR/AED/First Aid Certifications or equivalent certifications approved by the YMCA prior to first day and maintained afterwards.Intro to the Ys Cause & Culture Online Course - to be completed prior to first day if hired.Additional training to be completed within the first 30 after hired, and maintained afterwards
