Job Description

Position Focus:The Associate Director of Development for will work closely with the Senior Director of Development overseeing Brain, Behavior and Children’s health to assist in all aspects of engagement and fundraising activities for several departments at the Yale School of Medicine. The Associate Director will be an integral major gift fund raiser, responsible for fostering strategic faculty and staff partnerships across the institution with a goal to securing gifts in support of the faculty, programs, and facilities within the departments. A creative and energetic fundraiser, the Associate will bring a high level of sophistication, development leadership, and professional expertise to the team. The successful candidate will be a skilled relationship builder who will inspire trust and collaboration with senior leadership, faculty, and colleagues across the departments and the School.Working closely with the Senior Director of Development, the Associate Director will serve as a member of the team coordinating fundraising efforts at the Yale School of Medicine. Implement strategic fundraising plans to meet fundraising goals for established priorities. Strengthen donor pipeline at all levels through active identification, qualification, solicitation, and stewardship. Personally, maintain a significant portfolio of leadership and major gift prospects including grateful patients, friends, and former trainees. Create innovative strategies to build and foster relationships with faculty members and implement broad engagement opportunities for faculty. Working with faculty in the departments s/he oversees, develop comprehensive donor and fundraising strategies with short-term and long-term goals. Work regularly and collaboratively with other development offices to ensure overall development priorities, plans, and initiatives are coordinated. Responsibilities + Skills

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of college/university/academic medical center fundraising practices. Proven ability to problem solve, be detail-oriented and well-organized. Proven ability to innovate and bring a level of creativity to work.

Education

Bachelors Degree required, a minimum of two years of fundraising experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Job title and level will be commensurate with experience.
