Job Summary/Basic Function:Teachers College, Columbia University (TC) seeks an innovative and collaborative Director of Online and Hybrid Learning (DOHL) to provide strategic and operational leadership to the College’s expansion of online and hybrid education. Serving as a member of the Provost’s leadership team, the DOHL will lead and coordinate efforts between the Provost’s office, institutional leaders, and other College units to plan, develop, and deliver online and hybrid programs, while also helping the College shape the overall learning experience for students.To facilitate the online expansion initiative and build a wide coalition of support, the DOHL will collaborate closely with a number of key institutional partners, including the Digital Futures Institute (DFI), TC Information Technology (TCIT), Division of Academic Planning and Global Affairs (APGA), and the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs (EMSA).Responsibilities:Vision, Strategic Planning and AssessmentWork closely with institutional leaders, academic departments, and key offices/units to develop a vision and long-term strategy for online and hybrid learning that aligns with the College’s mission and strategic priorities.Design a timeline and inclusive framework for implementing the strategic plan, based on stakeholder input.Develop, implement, and assess policies and procedures guiding quality and consistency in online course design, development, support, and deliveryServe as a liaison between APGA and academic programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards
Responsibilities + Skills
Education
Develop and administer the budget for the online expansion initiative, and manage project finances including monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting. Forecast funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years of professional online learning experience in a post-secondary institution.Demonstrated experience with project planning and management methodologies and platforms.Demonstrated ability to manage large project budgets ($1 million+)
