Food Service Worker-YMCA Camp Cosby

Job Description

Provide quality and safe food service to groups using camp. This includes food preparation and kitchen cleanup.Essential Functions:Prepare food served using established production procedures and systems.Assist with presentation of food and service as directed.Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards.Demonstrate proper food preparation and handling techniques.Assist in proper storage of food within standards.Report necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor.Dining area and kitchen clean up including proper washing and sterilization of all dishes and food preparation surfaces.Maintain clean, attractive, safe, functional food service equipment and facilities that meet or exceed American Camping Association (ACA) standards, State Health Codes and YMCA policies and standards.Attends all staff meetings, required training sessions and special events.Other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor. 

Responsibilities + Skills

Education

Ability to work in a hot, humid and fast-paced workplace.Successful completion of background screening.Acquire and maintain the following certifications within 30 days of hire date via YMCA, American Red Cross, American Heart Association and American Health and Safety Institute (ASHI):

Experience

Experience working in a commercial kitchen environment.Experience preparing meals for hundreds of people at one time.Highly organized and professional.Self-motivated with the able to multi-task.
