Job Description
This position is responsible for contributing expert geospatial analysis to the Conflict Observatory Programs (Ukraine, Sudan, or both). Geospatial analysis refers to the use of geospatial analysis tools as well as interpreting satellite imagery or remote sensing data using various platforms and techniques. This position reports directly to Lead Geospatial Analyst and works closely with Project Team Leads, Director of Conflict Observatory Programs, and Deputy Directors for Research and Operations.May lead units or functions, including overseeing and coordinating projects or work processes, and may contribute to work planning for the work of full time employees, consultants, or student researchers. Based on knowledge of methodology and research goals, collaborates with Geospatial Analysis team on major revisions to projects and contributions to methodological protocols. Plans and implements changes.
Responsibilities + Skills
Proven knowledge of commercial imagery providers and imagery and remote sensing data platforms for analysis and exploitation.
Education
Masters Degree in a related discipline and two years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
Demonstrated experience working with satellite imagery and a variety of remote sensors and data types.
