Job Description
Yale University Library seeks a user-centered and creative librarian to join a newly formed group looking to reenvision research and learning support for the sciences and social sciences. Under the direction of the Associate Director, Research Engagement, the Social Science Librarian is part of a two-person team with primary responsibility for needfinding and relationship building with students, researchers, and practitioners in social science, environmental studies, global affairs, and related interdisciplinary programs.The Research Engagement group consists of three teams: Social Science, Science and Engineering, and Management, Economics and Entrepreneurship. Using a shared, user-focused workflow emphasizing efficiency, responsiveness, and adaptability, the group delivers programs that support the full research lifecycle and accelerate research and practice. Each team is responsible for understanding needs and trends in their areas of focus and each team member will lend their expertise to programs and services offered by the department. Key areas of support include research consultations, scholarly profiles and research impact, research data support, and building community through common research methods and tools. Each librarian will serve as a knowledgeable resource, connecting students, staff, researchers, and community members with relevant collections, services and experts.

Demonstrated ability to identify, search, and instruct researchers in the use of social science information resources.
Education
1. Masters degree from an ALA-accredited library school or equivalent degree or other relevant advanced academic degree.2. Background in science, social science, or other relevant field.3. Experience designing projects and bringing them to a conclusion in a timely fashion.4. Experience working collaboratively and independently with varied groups within a complex organization and rapidly changing team environment.
