Job Description
Position Focus:Reporting to the Fire Code and Compliance Manager, this position directly supervises the day-to-day activities associated with the University fire and safety programs and services. Oversees the development and implementation of procedures governing inspections, emergencies, maintenance and constructions projects with a thorough knowledge of fire protection principles and practices. The Supervisor of Fire Code and Compliance will have knowledge of risk management, hazard analysis, fire protection and engineering principles and practices.This position is responsible for ensuring up to date maintenance programs and operating procedures meet University needs and regulatory requirements. Develops detailed work plans and establishes daily assignment priorities and time schedules for staff with an emphasis on evaluating performance and adhering to budgets. This includes detailed understanding of actual costs vs. budget, recommendations to improve efficiencies and reduce costs, assessment of internal vs. contracted scopes of work and ability to implement strategies and tactics to achieve change management objectives. This requires regular evaluation of overtime needs and management of staffing while providing training, dealing with employee relations and union concerns. Supervisory skills include experience with progressive discipline and performance feedback with proven ability to direct customer focused teams providing maintenance services.

Experience
Bachelors Degree and five years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
