Job Description
Under the direction of the Director of the East Asia Program, this manager is responsible for the overall management and coordination of the East Asia Program’s administrative, financial, and HR activities. Provide program representation and structural support for the promotion and the study of East Asia at Cornell throughout the university and occasionally at national meetings. Serve as liaison with numerous units across campus. Provide leadership and administrative support for the program’s public relations, outreach and development activities. Work with the Program director and relevant faculty committees in grant writing, organizing fellowship competitions, and developing new fund raising initiatives. Assist faculty in coordinating program events and community, regional, and national outreach. Supervise non-academic staff, which includes identifying and providing guidance toward goals and expectations and providing daily oversight and guidance; managing the performance management process; and providing coaching and development in order to maintain a strong, effective team. Oversee the update and production of program promotional literature. Oversee the design and maintenance of information technologies (website, databases, list serve).
