DescriptionPosition Description:The School of Interdisciplinary Forensics at Arizona State University invites applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible, tenure-track Assistant Professor, faculty position in Forensic Science with primary research areas in defense forensics, biometrics, or pattern recognition. This position will begin in August 2024. The successful candidate is expected to establish a vigorous, externally-funded program of research in Forensic Science; to deliver quality undergraduate and graduate instruction in Forensic Science; and to contribute service to the school, college, university, and the profession.The successful candidate of this search will be joined by several additional faculty members who will be recruited through national searches to expand and deepen program offerings and research endeavors in support of advancing the rigor of the underlying science and expanding the boundaries of interdisciplinary education and research. Faculty in the School of Interdisciplinary Forensics have the opportunity to work in a unit that values innovative research and undergraduate education equally while being housed in an R1 university. This has created the opportunity for our diverse student population to obtain individual faculty mentorship on the West Campus of ASU, which provides a close-knit residential campus setting.About the School:The School of Interdisciplinary Forensics is part of ASU's New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences. The school is based on the West campus and specializes in interdisciplinary programs. The core mission of the school is to blend scientific rigor and technical training to advance the fair and effective administration of justice. Responsibilities + Skills

Evidence of an on-going research program in defense forensics, biometrics, or pattern recognition;Evidence of applying research expertise in defense forensics, biometrics, or patter recognition;

Education

Doctorate or terminal degree in Forensic Science or a related field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, etc.) at time of hire.
